plagiocephaly helmet...

My husband decided to clean it, not knowing how to correctly. So he submerged it into water and got it soaked while cleaning it. I'm at work and haven't seen it yet. I know your not supposed to get them that wet. Does anyone know if it will be ok, or have any similar stories and the helmet was ok???
