desperate...

My husband is in the military and set to deploy soon.. I'm 37 weeks but there's a huge chance he might miss the birth of our son. Is there any way I could try to convince my doctor to induce me? I really getting desperate.. they told my husband they might let him stay behind a little while to see the birth but I can tell that's tearing him apart.. he doesn't want to let his guys down and he doesn't want to miss the birth... any tips?? Or suggestions I'm really open to anything at this point... thanks
