We have been traveling about 4 hours from home to a large hospital for the last couple months due to Baby B having a suspected right aortic arch and may need a small procedure after he is born and this is where all the specialists are. In the last week my hands and feet started to swell, overall I haven't been feeling well and having some sparkles in my vision. When they checked my BP it was through the roof, I was only there for ultrasound and to schedule c section for 38 weeks. They admitted me right away and started constant fetal monitoring and BP every 15 minutes. All my lab work came back normal and my urine sample shows minimal proteins and due to my BP in better range but still elevated I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension but at this point they are not calling it preeclampsia. I was terrified half the day because at first when I was admitted the specialist told me to be prepared to have the babies today and they would need a little NICU time. I got my first round of steroid injections and it sounds like if everything is stable through the night and tomorrow I can go home but with lots of monitoring and try to keep babies in til 37 weeks. She said at this point there is no benefit to trying for 38 weeks. So while I'm still nervous I'm so happy and relieved babies get to stay in and cook a little longer!!!
