Pcos and antibodies in sperm...

Jessica

Hi everyone,

I will try and keep it short but a little of my background....

I have known I have had pcos for 10 years my husband and I have been together 4 years. When we were ready to start ttc I went to my doctor to say I was ready to be referred for fertility treatment (we have had unprotected sex for our whole relationship as I believed I didn't ovulate and I have never once been pregnant)

My cycles are all over the place between 30-82 days however more recently some months they have been more regular i have a couple of 30/31 day cycles in a row so do believe I ovulate occasionally due to cervical mucas and 1 previous positive ovulation stick, but could be wrong!

I have had the results from my blood test for progesterone which confirmed no ovulation this month.

However, we have had the confirmation that my husband also has fertility issues, was completely unexpected and I'm trying to come to terms with it that this process is all going to be even harder now. His count/motility/morphology is all fine but he has antibodies in his sperm. Antibodies attack the sperm and make it clump together so it can't reach an egg (even if there was an egg there!) Our only option is looking like icsi...

We are currently waiting for the date of our first appointment (6-8 week wait just to get the letter) and his doctor is referring him to a specialist. Does anyone have any experience with sperm antibodies? If anything can be done? It seems to be rare as I never read any other posts of people talking about it and i had never even heard of it before.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, I feel like we are the only ones dealing with this fertility issue 🙁
