TTC is doing more harm to us?

Me and my husband have been TTC for 8 months now. So far, not even a faint line. Lately every month when we find out no, it ends up in a fight about how my body just can't get pregnant and with my defense it takes time. I tell him I need to see a doctor, but won't let me spend the money and miss time from work to go to a doctor. I feel like a failure most of the time now and just have no motivation to try anymore because I know it will just end in an argument at the end of the month :(
