Quick starting the pill to miss period?

I go on vacation on september 6 and my period is coming on september 3rd. Have any of you quick started the pills just to miss your period? I quick started mine on sunday and i hope I don't get my period while I'm taking the pill.

Starting the pill mid-cycle, you're more likely to have break-through and unpredictable bleeding. It seems really soon to be able to use the pill to skip your period but there's no telling really and you've already started
