Makena Progesterone shots? Side effects

I delivered baby boy at 34w 5d after an early rupture, now 18w  pregnant with baby girl and they've suggested I start weekly injections to help this one bake a little longer.. any moms been thru this? Did it work for baby #2? Any side effects I should expect? Does it hurt? Appreciate it thanks!!

Had baby 2 at 32 weeks 2 days and he spent a month in the nicu. As much as I didn't want to do these shots, I opted to do whatever I could for her. I am currently 33 weeks. I have only had intramuscular injections when they gave me steroid shots in my thigh for baby 2 at the hospital and at that point I was in full on labor so I honestly don't remember that pain at all. These shots are given in the hip area. It takes a minute for them to inject slowly. My first shot was awful. It burns being injected and it felt like a wasp sting throughout the day. Just a random burning/stinging sensation every now and then. Once I got a bruise, and it felt itchy but not unbearable and the itchiness only lasted one day. I have a good side and bad side. My left is worse than my right and it is painful until its over and I walk around. I'm a little more tired on the days I get shots and a little more irritable too lol but other than that, I haven't had any allergic reactions.  Only have 4 more shots left. Should have only had 3 more but hurricane Harvey derailed my schedule. Don't get the shot and do ur sugar screen on the same day. I failed my one hour and think it's bc I had my shot that morning then did blood work. Went for my three hour the day before I was due to get another shot and everything came back normal. Absolutely no heightened levels.
