Birth control question

Lydia

Okay so I was on this one form of birth control for a few months (don't remember what it's called) but I used it to regulate my period because as of right now it has no schedule, it's ridiculously hard to keep up with and sometimes even happens two times a month. But that's besides the point. A couple friends of mine are taking forms of birth control that can make your period only last a day or two with little bleeding. Is this an actual thing? Are there health risks? And if so what are they? I'm interested in this but I like to take precaution when it comes to medications. If anyone has helpful info please share
