Too picky?

Question

Is it okay to be "picky" with your man. Obviously it's not all about looks and it's about personality, but is it okay to help you decide based on looks as well? Make me feel like I'm a jerk for asking!

Not really. If physical attraction is important to you, then it just is important to you. People say it's all about what's on the inside, but if you don't find someone physically attractive, it can be more difficult to connect with them in a certain way.

When I was in college there was this guy who had the sweetest & most purest crush on me. He was an absolute sweetheart; he would hold open doors. listen to me, like actually listen. One of the best people I've ever met in terms of how to treat a lady. He had his downfalls, such as lack of ambition but overall he was a good dude. However, he was so completely physically unattractive to me. I truly wasn't attractive to him on any level. So, to spare time & feelings I always kept it in the friend zone, which allowed him to move on to someone who reciprocated (all) of his feelings. Moral of the story, physical appearance does matter & it doesn't make you shallow if you're not attracted to someone. imo, it's shallow when you use or lead the person on; as well as not even give the situation a chance.

I wouldn't necessarily say there's anything wrong with that. I guess it might become a problem if you were keeping yourself from developing feelings for someone awesome because they didn't check all of your boxes physically. But overall I think it's your call.
