Do you think I could be induced at 40 weeks?

My OB would be inducing me at 41 weeks anyway, but 4 days after my due date my husband has a very important interview that cannot be rescheduled (he's part of a pool of candidates they're interviewing and they're doing all of them on the same day), and it's out of town. He'd be flying out that morning and back that afternoon, so I'm scared for him to go if I haven't had the baby yet but we also can't pass up the job opportunity, it would be life changing. At that point I'd be at my due date anyway, do you think I could be induced then? I'm going to ask at my next appointment
