New to this - need some advice

Catherine

Hi ladies! This is my first month off birth control and starting to track my cycle so my husband and I can TTC. Have been using both the Clearblue Advanced OPK and a cheaper brand of strips I bought on Amazon. Using both to get a feel for which I prefer for going forward.

Clearblue Advanced has given me a "High" result every day except the first day I tested (8/23, CD 6) which was "Low". Meaning now I've had 9 days of high fertility. I feel like this isn't right? (Which is why I started using the strips too). What do you guys think about this test brand? Anyone have something similar happen? I don't want to keep buying this (expensive!) test if it isn't working for me.

For the cheaper strips, results are in the photo below, and seem more in line with what others have posted. I don't think I've got a positive one yet, right? But seems like the test lines (the ones on the left) are starting to get darker each day?

Would appreciate any advice you ladies have on OPKs!

A bit more background, if helpful:

I had a Mirena IUD in for 2 years with no periods. Had the IUD removed 8/14 and started my period on 8/17 for a full 6 days. I know this could have been a pseudo period triggered by the removal of the IUD, but without any other starting point to track my cycle, I'm using that as CD 1 for now.

Also, if I remember correctly back to before I was on birth control (I mean, years and years ago) my cycle is a bit longer than average. So being at CD 16 without hitting my peak days yet might be normal for me.
