birth control!

so I'm only 14 but I'm considering birth control, not to prevent pregnancy (I'm a virgin still & I'm not planning on having sex anytime soon), but to help my cramps & acne. I've heard that the pill helps, but I'm very forgetful so I'd probably forget to take it (I've taken other medicines before and I did forget a lot of times). do the other alternatives like a patch/an IUD only prevent

pregnancy or does it also stabilize your hormones? also is it too early to start taking birth control at 14?
