SOMEBODY HELP A GIRL OUT! ðŸ˜
Alright so I'm 20 years old and I've never been pregnant before so I'm looking for some answers. To give you some background on me, I have a condition called Liden Factor 5 which means I can't take any hormones otherwise my blood will clot, which makes my birth control options limited. I was on the depot shot for 4 years until I switched to the IUD, and then I was on the IUD for a little over a year and I just got it taken out this past May.
Yesterday I was having to go to the bathroom frequently and experiencing burning, so I immediately thought I had gotten another horrible UTI so I went straight to urgent care for a check up. I was also experiencing some cramping, which I assumed was due to the fact that I was supposed to get my period in the next couple days. I have gotten UTI's in the past so it's not something that is uncommon for me, and as of yesterday my period was only 2 days late. Last month my period was late 6 days so I really didn't think much of it that my period was late this month too. Well when I ended up going into urgent care yesterday they said I had a lot of bacteria and some blood in my urine which they thought was the start of a UTI or another bacterial infection. So they put me on an antibiotic and a dark maroon cranberry looking pill to numb the irritation, they wanted me to take both to get rid of the infection. They never tested me for pregnancy while I was at urgent care, just for a UTI. So I went and picked up my prescriptions and took a dosage of both last night hoping to get some relief.
Well this morning when I woke up I decided to take a pregnancy test because they didn't test me yesterday and I wanted to rule out pregnancy as one of the possible causes of my cramping and irritation. Well 4 pregnancy tests later, and they are all positive. I have never been pregnant before and I'm wondering if these are all false positives due to the fact I have a UTI? I scheduled an appointment with my doctor but this whole not knowing thing is killing me! Has anybody ever taken a pregnancy test before while they had a bacterial infection and had it come out positive but you really aren't pregnant? I read online that bacteria and blood in your urine can cause pregnancy tests to read inaccurately. I don't know what to think right now, if anybody has any answers or advice please feel free to lay it on me as I am desperate right now!
