Do you think telling young girls that they are pretty hurts their body image later on?
I posted this in CC anonymously because I'm embarrassed of sharing my story. I completely forgot that you can't post anonymously and everyone was being a dick about it so I wanted to share this post in another room where I'm able to feel comfortable.
Anyways i don't really feel like going into too many details like I did in my other post. So personally I have struggled with body dysmorphic disorder and I was recently watching a video of someone else experience with the disorder. They said something along the lines that they felt being told they were "a pretty girl" at a young age put a lot of pressure of them and was one of the things that led them to be more critical of themselves
