When people say you'll lose weight with breastfeeding....

A bunch of bologna. Now I'm sure some of you may have lost weight while breastfeeding but this momma hasn't 😫 I think I'm eating more now than I did with my pregnancy 😕 anyone else with me??

I lost 20-30 pounds during my pregnancy and gained it all back within a few months because my breastfeeding appetite was so strong.

The reason people say that is because you typically burn an additional 500 calories when breastfeeding in order to produce the milk. Think about it, and entire beings sustenance is coming just from you! So extra calories needed for the baby plus what it takes to make the milk are extra burned. But if you eat more than the extra it takes to make the milk, you won't lose any extra weight, unless you supplement with extra exercise :) you can't lose weight unless you eat less than your body needs so it burns what you already have

My (totally unscientific) theory is that if you are the type who loses weight easily, breastfeeding will help you lose weight... but if you are the type who struggles to lose weight, breastfeeding will cause your bod to maintain a death grip on all your body fat. But this is basically just based on my skinny ass sister who "was never thinner than was I was breastfeeding!" And then me, the lumpy sister, who has been working out like a beast for six months and lost a grand total of 4 pounds. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was 170lbs before giving birth 🤰.. 16weeks postpartum and breastfeeding and I weigh 136lbs still have another 10lbs to get to pre pregnancy weight .. in the first month I only lost 20lbs which was water and the baby 😜🙈 then I cut out all the junk food and started snacking on veggies and fruit and while breastfeeding drank water or juice instead of chocolate or chips and exercise at least 2x a week even walking with baby in stroller .. I know it's hard to hear this and trust me I have my days where I just want to cry because I feel bloated and hungry which doesn't help but just like some of you ladies mentioned for some it comes easy and for others it doesn't ..

I didn't start losing weight until I was about 5 months post partum. I don't know if it was from breastfeeding or what. But those first five months I couldn't lose weight for anything no matter how active I was.

its so weirf my first pregnancy i lost nothing. this time at 9 months pp i still gave 10 lbs to get back to pp weight. i had gained 50 lbs. 1st timd around 70 lbs...
