blowing up after pregnancy

I can admit I'm not the smallest size now but my friend made me think abut pregnancy because she said if I have a baby I would blow up because I'm thick now. But I know some who lost weight and even became skinnier after the baby then before her saying that just made me scared to even think about having a baby. Women that's on the thicker side that  has kids did you guys get bigger after the baby or smaller ?
