Different orgasms solo vs. with partner?

So I'll get to the point: I'm able to get myself off within a few minutes on my own and typically use a vibrator to do so, but I don't think I've ever had a proper orgasm with a partner. My current bf is the closest I've gotten to an orgasm (I just fake it which I know is so so bad) and I love what he does but it's almost like I can't relax enough or something and it's like I can get to the peak but then my clitoris gets to sensitive and I have to tell him to stop. Does this happen to anyone else? Any tips on how to help me orgasm with my boyfriend?
