Pregnant Dental Assistants

Hi there!

I'm wondering if there are any pregnant DA's out there, or ladies who have previously worked as a DA while pregnant..

I'm currently 18 weeks, and I have growing concerns that my baby will suffer health problems due to the countless hazards I deal with on a daily basis. Radiation, chemicals, and amalgam.. I don't deal with nitrous oxide, so that's one thing I don't have to worry about! I wear all PPE and try to handle all chemicals safely..

I have talked with the Dentist and expressed my concerns, but he thinks I'm being silly and that there's nothing to worry about..

Have any of you worked in my position and had healthy babies?! Please someone give me some reassurance :)
