Volleyball Coaches?

Question

I applied for a position in my local town for a volleyball coach position . Im 23 years old. Do you have to know the game very well ??? Cuz i was once a cheer coach for little girls.. I know how to do stretches and how to play the game but i'm kinda confused on the plays and positions.  All i don't know is how to switch positions. and stuff like that.. Do you have to know the game well to become a coach??  it's for junior high girls ages 11-14

Uh yeah you need to know some rotations and how to put girls in proper positions to be opposite of their counterpart and such. Watch a lot of YouTube videos

Teaching technique is very important and you just can't do that without experience. Girls 11-14 will likely be old enough to need some learning that is a little more advanced and specific

Yes.. as a volleyball player I know that if one of my coaches was not educated on the sport, not only would the team suck, but it would be frustrating for both the players and the coach. Most coaches have experience playing on a team. Not to be rude but I'd suggest applying for a diff job/sport that you're more experienced in.

Yes you should know the game well if it's that age group. Maybe find a littler age group, or find your other strengths instead.
