Cervical Mucus

Question: I'm in my fertile window but not supposed to ovulate until September 8th. Took a opk and it was negative.. I just had a clump of very stretchy cervical mucus clear in color... do you think I ovulated or does this mean I'm going to ovulate soon? Help!!!
