Advice: Announce or not too announce?

Question

I'm 12 weeks today and we already got back our genetic screen tests and they were all normal. I still have my nuchal translucency test on Friday, and I'm trying to decide if it's pretty safe to announce before we do that test (since our other tests were normal) or should I want until have this scan as well? Thoughts?

I announced super early (literally before 6 weeks) but I have always wanted to announce early. I never wanted to go through pregnancy or a loss alone and I felt like it would be easier to announce the pregnancy and then if I lost him or her, I wouldn't have to explain 15 million times to everyone.  But it's a personal choice! Announce when YOU feel like it's the right time! ❤️

Whenever you want! I announced at five weeks, because the truth is that something can happen at any point until he say the baby is in your arms, and I didn't want to suffer in silence alone if something bad happened.

I also had those test done at 12weeks.. i told my family I was expecting then miscarried at 12w4d. Most heart breaking experience of my life. I'm now 8 weeks pregnant again and I'm not telling anyone for a good while. My point is... tell people when you want to.. when you're ready. If you're ready now.. then shout it to the whole world.. being pregnant is something you want everyone to know cause it's such an exciting time.. I know trust me.. I couldn't wait to tell everyone last time. I wish I hadn't now.. and that's why I'm waiting for a long time with this pregnancy.. but everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. So do it on your timing congratulations and good luck!

I announced early with my last pregnancy (my third) and then at 18 weeks found out my daughter had trisomy 18 and it was so hard having to tell people we lost her 19 hours after birth. I'm currently pregnant, I go in tomorrow for my first doctors visit and will begin early testing I believe in the next month or so to check for any abnormalities. Aside from immediate family and a couple close friends, we haven' told anyone. Not even my other kids. We decided to wait to find out if baby is okay before making any public announcements. I just don't think I can go through making another announcement like I had to before. I think it all comes down to when you are ready and what works for you and your family! Good luck! I'd tell people when I'm ready. First time was 12 weeks, this time I'm in no hurry and we're 14w4d, family knows and 3 close friends but that's it. You'll know when the times right ☺️
