Five year old has become very angry/hostile after starting Kindergarten. What can be done?

My five year old has flipped his switch since starting public school. He's having issue after issue, and a part of me almost feels like it would be best to homeschool. Can anyone share any tips or recommendations? He just seems completely overwhelmed and flustered all of the time now! And on top of that, his behavior is TERRIBLE at home. 😞
It's his first school experience, so I'm assuming he will just have to adjust. But this has become very alarming for me because his behavior is like some I have never seen before!

It may be adjustment, school is a lot to get used to. see if you can have a chat with his teacher. Is the behavior universal, like he's acting up at school too?  It could be an attention thing, is he your only child?

Talk to him hun :)...Kids need these social experiences but they can be very overwhelmed. New faces and a new place, a change in their schedule and they have to be away from you it can be hard for them. when my eldest daughter start school last year she kept to her self for the first couple weeks which was weird for me cause she is very social. she cried the first couple of days cause she wanted to come home. After those couple of weeks passed she was excited about it and made soo many friends lol she was always greeted with hugs and smiles and that made me smile. I just talked to her everyday and ensured her that i will be there when she gets out waiting for her. Her school is across the street from our house so i would use those walks to and from to talk to her about what she thinks they will learn today and when we come home how her day was and just make her laugh. I walked her to class until she felt comfortable going on her on. Its a journey but don't worry he will be fine

My daughter was/is like this. It turned out it was separation anxiety. Lots of reassurance that Mummy/Daddy misses them while they are at school and we will always be there at the end of the day helps. Acknowledge feelings and tell him that you understand his frustration and sadness. Most importantly talk to the teacher. I wait 5 minutes while the class settles in, tell her that I love her and will be back in the afternoon to collect her.
Same with behaviour at home. We saw a child psychologist and she recommended 20-30 one on one special playtime for her and her only a day. She chooses what we play and we sit and play with her. Gives her that sense of importance.

I would guess it's an adjustment period. Especially if he is not used to spending such a large chunk of his day with other children. I'd talk with him and see how he likes school, what he likes about each day, what he dislikes and finds difficult.
