Finding a Nanny/Daycare

Any moms have recommendations to finding a nanny/daycare online? I've checked our city website and it's a start (for daycare) but ideally if we could find someone to come to us to care for our little one it would be ideal.

I've asked family/friends already with no luck.

Going to ask some of the nannies at our storytime at the library if they have friends? But also how do you check their credentials?

Sooo many checks and balances to mark off it's overwhelming.
