Family Doctor or ER??

I've had an issue with swelling in my leg for about 1-2 weeks now. Got checked for a blood clot, safe there. I was trying to schedule an appointment to go see my Midwife again about it, which I did. The nurse called and said I should go to my appointment but I also need to go see a family doctor about my leg because there isn't much more my Midwife can do *sigh*. Do I find a family doctor and get that scheduled for whenever or do I just take myself to the ER (or urgent care) and finally figure out why the hell my leg is swollen? I'm miserable and beyond frustrated.
