Talking to my mother about birth control

I live with five brothers and me and my mom aren't close, not even a little. And neither are me and my father. I'm just kind of not good at getting close to people. I'm not saying that I want to be on birth control because I'm just gonna go have sex, but I'm not saying that I wont be, because that's something I want to be prepared for as well. But because I'm super irregular and i know she's immediately gonna think I'm whoring around. I just want to be prepared and I feel like it's the responsible thing to do. I get really bad cramps and I'm super irregular and quite frankly I'm tired of ruining underwear...suggestions??
