What are we?

So ive been talking to this guy for a couple weeks now it obvious we both have feelings but things have definitely been moving fast we've already had sex multiple times but when I ask him what we are to each other he says it's still early but we're getting to know each other and heading down the right track I'm confused I've never been in a situation like this any advice?
