Hurricane Irma in the Tampa area?

My step-son and my fiances ex wife live in New Port Richey, from what I understand thats near Tampa. I am super worried and haven't been able to turn off the news since last night but the ex doesn't seem too worried about it. Shes staying in a concrete home with a generator and plenty of supplies but I really want to insist that they come out to stay with us until its over. (We live in AZ). Am I overreacting? I have no experience with this kind of weather. I have only ever lived on AZ.

I'm in Georgia, and they're talking about us getting it, too. to anyone in Florida, I hope y'all take it seriously and evacuate early. I'd rather be safe than sorry. a hurricane is nothing to play with, especially a category 5! the governor there has already suspended toll booths so that everyone can get out with minimal traffic...  I'm praying for everyone in the path.

My sister lives near Tampa and I'm worried about her also. I told her to pack it up and head my way. I'm in Colorado. I don't think you're overreacting unless I am too. Lol.

I live in the Tampa area. I am possibly evacuating on Thursday depending on which way the storm goes. Grocery stores were extremely packed.

Not overreacting at all, you never know what mother nature gonna throw at us. I have to check on my fam in Tampa!😦 If there's evacuation they should go. Don't forget birth certificates and important docs.

NPR is the first on the list to be evacuated.  I'm in Tampa, not close to the evacuation sites. No matter how many supplies they have, they will probably under water.
