Wedding gift?

Question

Best friend is getting married. I am a bridesmaid, hubby is a groomsmen and our daughter is the flower girl (my daughter is their godchild). 
    Bedsides my sisters wedding when I was the maid of honor (I paid for their wedding invitations as their wedding gift) I haven't been in a wedding so I don't know what the  gift giving etiquette is. 
    Is it the same if I'm just a guest? Or is different since we've paid for our dresses, the suit rental, throw a bridal shower (gave a gift), threw a bachelor/bachelorette party etc...
Edit *** I'm not saying I don't want to give a gift because I am/will. I just didn't want to give too little. 
   Between the my dress $175 the flower girl dress $143, suit rental - $230 plus the girls are wearing cowboy boots $25 for my daughters $150 for mine then hair and makeup is gonna be around between 65-100 it's just a lot of money

It depends on your situation. We had the exact same thing with our best man, bridesmaid, and ring bearer. We specifically told them we did not expect a gift because they had to spend a lot of money to be in the wedding, and we are familiar with their financial situation. They gave us a small shower gift and a small wedding gift and it was less than the typical guest but more than we would have expected because we understand cash is tight for them.  
The rest of our wedding party gave what we expected, ranging from nothing (our siblings lol) to smaller than average monetary gifts to very generous monetary gifts. 
When we've been in wedding parties, we've never given less than $200, and have given as much as $400, depending on several factors like the cost of the wedding, what said couple gave us (if their wedding was after ours), our financial situation at the time, our closeness to the couple, and whether both or just one of us is in the wedding, etc. 
Bottom line, there's no set rule. Do whatever you can afford and feel comfortable with. If it were me, I would give at least a little something since it seems like you're close to the couple given your family's involvement in the wedding, even if it's just something small and sentimental.

I've given gifts when I've been a bridesmaid bc of course I want to get such close friends a wedding present... I'm not sure if you "need to" or not as it's never occurred to me to not give something

It's my understanding that bridesmaids are not expected to give a gift bc of all those things you mentioned. Plus all the help w wedding. Im a wedding Florist and that's the etiquette I've known.

Maybe just something small?? Maybe make them something instead of buying something? That's a LOT of money to put out especially with all the things you guys have done already. I wouldn't expect and didn't expect anything from our wedding party. The attire is so expensive just by itself!!

I've given gifts as a bridesmaid. For one wedding we did a little gift basket for the bride full of like mani/pedi spa type things and drinks and snacks and stuff. 
My bridesmaids made me a really nice gift-- they went around and asked my friends/family to do a little write up about what they love about me or fun memories and they made those into a photo book , with a photo of that person and I and then a write up. They got the book from some sort of website such as shutterfly . It's a nice keepsake :)
