I've been with my so for 4 years. I haven't passed it. Communication is key. If I even think I might be getting ready to have an outbreak we don't do anything. I guess trust plays a big part and how serious you see things being.

Yes I would. You can protect yourself, and without a break out it and using a condom - it's like throwing a needle in a hay stack. This is very personal to me because I have a family member that has so much to offer with Herpes. He was dating a female for over a year, living together, and she cheated and contracted it and gave it to him. They are not the virus, they are humans. Gentian Herpes doesn't cause any medical problems, and many live fulfilling lives. You can still donate blood, and go years without a breakout. Don't just toss this person to the side because of that, they may be the one who treats you the best. Just educate yourself and know how to protect yourself - a relationship is worth way more than sex.

Its depends on how u feel for that person. My husband had it since we first dated, he didn't know until we met couple months. And went to Dr n found out abt it.i didn't have it because i got blood tests many times due to my family own the clinic . It doesn't matter how careful we r with protection when we have sex , still can get it even not at breakout time, condoms r not protecting us from herpes because its not always on the penis but elsewhere in the body...
And things makes me nervous the most is when TTC for baby, and pregnant...its dangerous for the baby , life - threatening for baby...
