Stay at home mom question?

I'm due with my baby girl in early December. My SO and I have been talking about me staying home with her instead of going back to work. We can afford it, but I would really like to make a little extra money on my own and not have all the expenses fall on my SO. I was thinking about watching kids at my house when my baby gets to be a few months old. Is this a good idea? Has anyone ever done this before that could give me some advice. I don't know anyone that has done this, so I'm just looking for some opinions! Or even opinions on other income I could make while staying at home. Thanks in advance :)

I enjoy my freedom and flexibility as a SAHM too much to commit to being a sitter/daycare. 
I chose to do pet sitting via Rover.com when my daughter was a year old up until she was about 3. It allowed me to work a minimal amount of time, earn decent spending money, yet be 100% available for my daughter. If she got a cold, I blocked out that time so I didn't have to "work". If I wanted to spend a week in the summer sleeping in and going to the beach every day, I didn't work. It was great! We picked easy clients like cats and dogs within 2 miles of our house so I didn't have to drive far.

What about a hobby craft etsy business or direct sales thing? There are some companies that have low start up cost and don't require min activity or inventory. I do one, but wont spam you with that ;) That's much more enjoyable to me rather than babysitting. Plus you can do some parties online rather than leaving the house.

I've been doing it and am about to stop. Too little money for the amount of time and energy it takes. Maybe if it wasn't 3 - 13 hour days but still. 
Tips for you if you do decide to do it: set an hourly rate, don't do by day or they'll abuse that and show up late every day. 
Either have them pay extra for food or make them provide EVERYTHING. My family brings pouched food for their kid but it's not enough nor do they bring him milk. So I'm constantly giving him my groceries which isn't huge but still bugs the crap out of me. 
Diapers/wipes/butt cream add up. Make them provide it. Don't use your own. Or have them include that in payment.

I was just watching a 10 month old, along with my own 6 month old and honestly I didn't think it was worth the pay. 
I missed out on one on one time with my daughter, I wasn't able to focus on her and ended up feeling kinda guilty about that, but she wasn't adjusting. She ended up getting territorial? I guess, anytime the little boy would be closer to me than she was she would throw a fit until I picked her up. 
BUT I was also going to their house in town where my husband works, so my daughter had to be in the car up to 2 hrs a day, 4 days a week. 
I'm much happier staying at home again, just me and my girl.

I was also thinking about babysitting. But decided against it. When my two arrive I want to spend my time with them and our 9 year old. Be able to have my freedom to go out to parks science center ect  just enjoy my time with my littles

my oldest is almost 16 my youngest is almost 3. honestly I filled it this time having a little one at home does not last very long and every moment that you get with your baby is so special you never want to miss out on anything or be too busy to give them your full attention there's so much you can help teach them before school other kids can get your child sick sometimes kids fight. I would strongly recommend if you're able to just enjoy this time with your baby and of course a little time to yourself.
