Will my baby need a helmet?

Our pediatrician wants to re-evaluate at 6 months to see if we need to be referred to PT or not. Ugh. Anyone have experience with their babies needing a helmet to fix a flat spot?

My son had torticollis and went to PT and had a helmet. Our pedi wanted to wait until 6 months but I wasn't comfortable not knowing if it would correct itself. He got a helmet at 5 months and had t off by 6 months. His head wasn't terrible, but with me acting quickly and resolving his underlying neck issue his head is perfect now and he has no issues with his neck at all. If you can find a cranial technologies near you they do free scans so you can get an idea of what you'd like to do. Our insurance wouldn't pay so it was expensive. $2100. I do not regret it at all. I don't have to wonder now if it'll resolve itself. I was also told the older they get the longer they have a helmet because their heads are harder. Good luck!!!

looks just like my daughter's head! did he have torticollis? we went to my chiro and did omt for a few months in the beginning. the chiro helped a ton with the torticollis but the omt SUCKED she hated it and I didn't see any progress on her head shape. bringing it up at her 9 month appt bc I was told that we would see more progress when she started sitting up on her own and I haven't which is frustrating.
