Should hair stylist be required to specialize in all hair types?

I have curly textures hair. Growing up it was extremely hard to find someone to cut my hair. My mom would NEVER take me to a lady with straight hair, and she would say things like "I only trust people with curly hair to cut our hair".

Today I was watching a YouTube channel and a lady made a comment about how she only specializes with that certain hair type. People seemed to be extremely offended by that comment and mentioned how stylists should know how to work with with all hair types. To me that seems logical, but a specialty is a specialty, meaning that person took time to become an expert in that hair type.

My question to everyone is, do u believe stylist should be required to SPECIALIZE in all hair types rather than just a select few?
