Do you think children of divorced parents are more independent as adults?

I'm not sure, and I'm feeling too lazy to pull up research on it right now. 
Anecdotally, both my partner and I are very independent people, and neither of our parents divorced. It's possible we're both statistical outliers though.

I'm gonna say no because I don't think it really makes a difference. They can still heavily rely on whatever parent they're living with or whosever house they're staying at.

I don't think divorce makes you more independent. I think there are a lot of factors that play into your independence. Where you fall in birth order plays a part or if you have siblings at all. Income level. Location. Also the type of parenting style. You could have divorced parents and be the youngest of 3, come from a wealthy family and never have to lift a finger for yourself and be dependent on other people for everything. Or you could be a single child of divorced parents who work 3 jobs each to keep the lights on so you're alone a lot and become incredibly independent.

I responded with no, reason being is that I am a product of divorced parents, and have a twin brother. While I am very independent my brother still remains to heavily rely on my parents and always has. Mind you we are 23. So I think there are many different factors that play into independence.

ehh I felt like so much plays part into this. like how long were the parents married did they divorce on Good terms how old was the child when they got a divorce every situation is very much different

Coming from a divorced family I would say yes, and along with my yes I think of situations like my bf's where either a parent was dead or also divorced. 
Of course there are outliers, like, purely anecdotally, my partner in a married family is the eldest of four and is self sufficient, but his younger siblings are so lacking in this department. Whereas all of my sisters and I seem to be fairly self sufficient. 
I guess I could be an odd ball out though as my parents have an awesome divorce and I love them being apart, and it also was when we were entering elementary school that they divorced.

Depends I guess. My in laws are divorced and my brother in law is the least independent person I know. He can't do his own laundry, cook his own food or remember to get his truck serviced. He's almost 25 and lives with his grandparents. They're about sick of it and you know grandparents are full of nothing but love lol.

My parents were never married but together for sort time of my life. I believe of the person who raised you will determine to tell if that child will grow with more maturity and independence. My mom raised my sister and I and we both are completely different from my aunts kids who's fathers weren't married to their mother either. My mom raised us differently then my aunts raised theirs. Divorce has nothing to do with independence it's more with how they were raised.

With my siblings and i it's a split between my sister and i and our brothers. The boys are still completely dependant on our parents in their late 20's, while my sister and i both moved out before we were 18. If anything that says it has nothing to do with the parents being together or not, it's the child's personality that makes all the difference.
