Gotta keep these babies in during Hurricane Irma
Today I am 29 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins and we had to send our son to NYC and leave our house in South Florida. I've been on modified bed rest since 27 weeks and on travel ban since 24 weeks. Our first goal was to reach 28 weeks so now we are going week by week. There has been a few complications and on Thursday before we evacuated I was told that I needed to have some more tests and also see a pediatric cardiologist. Originally they wanted to admit me to my hospital for observation but my husband wouldn't be allowed to come with me. I also would have to bring a sleeping bag, pillow and food and the beds are ONLY for women in active labor. Due to the seriousness of Hurricane Irma, my OB and high risk specialist gave us the ok to travel up North and inland to be by a special hospital. We left at 1am and what would normally take 3.5 hrs took us 7. All of Florida will be impacted but this is supposed to be a lot safer than where we live. The pressure and pain have been increasing but nothing worth going to the hospital for. I'm just camped out in a hotel room praying for our friends and family and hoping our babies don't decide to make their entrance during this time. Otherwise my daughter will forever be nicknamed Irma. Hope all the pregnant Floridian mommies out there are safe!!!
