My boyfriend wants to do anal...

So me and my boyfriend have been friends for a long time so we are very very comfortable with each other although we have only been dating for three months. We had sex the second time we hung out after we started dating (don't judge) so we have been getting more adventurous and trying new things and he says that he wants to try anal. I am all for it but I'm super nervous and I'm so scared that something is going to go wrong or I won't like it or just something will happen that I won't plan on happening.
