TTC baby #1 - Miscarriage and Semen Analysis Results
Hi there - first time poster here. I want to share my story and see if any of you have been given advice/have any inspiring stories to lift my spirits with TTC baby #1.
My husband and I are coming up on our 1 year wedding anniversary, and have been towering for almost 9 years. We started trying about 10 months ago and after just 5 months I got a positive pregnancy test, only to start bleeding and have an early miscarriage 5 days later - I was 5 weeks along. As you can imagine, we were both crushed as this was our first positive and we are both ready to start our family. I'm 29 and he is 31. After TTC for another 5 months now after the miscarriage, we went and talked to my OBGYN and got DH a semen analysis for what we thought would be "peace of mind". My husband had an undescended testical when he was born and it was not noticed and corrected with surgery until he was 10. Which is why we started with the SA. His results came back a week ago and were as follows:
Count: 6.4M/mil (5 mil total)
Motility: 8%
Morphology: 3%
Scary, I know. We are both scared we won't be able to conceive naturally as we had hoped. We hope we can, but if not we would want to try a natural IUI after another year or so trying.
He started taking a multivitamin, Vit C, and Zinc. Has stopped smoking and drinking caffeine, drinking more water and going to cut back on alcohol. He has an appt with a Urologist this week.
Any advice/support is appreciated! Thanks :)
