How to handle ex....

Ok so my biggest problem is that my ex makes promises to our daughter that he doesn't keep or even plan on fulfilling. Example: we have been split for almost 4 odd years, I married a wonderful man who loves my little girl(7 now) very much and would do anything in his power to make us happy. Ok so ex promised our daughter that she could have a kitten and it could live with him about 3 years ago now, still hasn't happened. Instead his new 'family' have had kittens on two occasions now for the kids and the fiancé. Tonight again he tells her he has a surprise for her, they have kittens again. So she asks him all excited whether one is for her, he says no there weren't enough but she can still play with them.

What would u do in this situation?
