Is it ok to have another baby shower ?

I just had my first baby a boy November 12. 2016. We had a big shower. I got pregnant very soon after and I'm expecting a baby girl 3/3/2018. I told my self if it was a boy I was not going to have a shower but now that We know it's a girl my moms already planning a shower and I'm kinda not feeling like it. I told her it was okay but to keep it extremely small.  I didn't enjoy my first shower because some family made extremely rude comments to me about my weight gain that ruined my day and I honestly hate being the center of attention and I am a bit anti social. What are your opinions on having another shower ? I also don't want to invite the family member that made those rude comments to me but if I don't it will cause drama 🙄

I'm the odd one out here but I say no. People will gift you girl clothes anyway most likely and the rest is all the same. I would feel put off being invited to another shower simply because it's a girl.

It sounds like you don't really want to have a shower. I think repeat showers are kind of odd, but my opinion doesn't really matter. What actually matters is what you want, and it sounds like it's not your thing.

It's totally okay, especially if someone wants to throw one for you. But since it's a second child, I think you have every right to maybe ask for a "intimate" guest list... and cut some people out 
With my daughter I had a very traditional baby shower 
Now this one, whatever it is, is coming 5 years later and it's a really big deal and I want to celebrate 🤷🏼‍♀️
I already did the traditional shower so this time my sister and one of my close friends want to put something together for us and i told them, make it a baby shower- but like a giant party. Like I want my husband there and all our friends, guys and girls, and just hang out and talk and eat food and play games and have fun!

I say why not! There's always been someone who wants to throw me a shower! However this is our 4th baby and we have relocated to another state so we may just do a diaper party at the local bar.

If someone's already wanting to throw one for you, then why not? Invite only close friends and family you want to be there. You could always call it a sprinkle and register for smaller stuff or just ask for baby girl clothes, etc.

If you do, you can call it a Baby Sprinkle! My sister saw it on Pinterest for people's second baby. It's definitely up to you, I know it's hard when you feel pressured to do something.

My family is big on ONE shower. I had a big one for my daughter that is 9. 
4 1/2 years later someone threw me a sprinkle to celebrate my second daughter and no one showed and everyone made comments about me being selfish. I had a son 2 years later and bought my own things for him. Those that care and love and are not ugly ppl celebrated him and bought gifts without a party:) now I'm having my 4th and expect no one to buy anything.  When my many sil's had second and third kids and they had showers and ppl showed... I didn't. I showed them the same respect they showed me.
