Beginner tips, where do I start?

I'm confused about what's what and what I really need lol liiike, primer, concealer, foundation... powder what's the difference can you leave one out? 
I want to go to the store and just buy some stuff to try but I'm not sure what all to get.. what's the best way to start what's a good inexpensive brand that has everything I need so I don't get overwhelmed?
I would like a natural daily look possibly just a tinted moisturizer, and I would like to know how to do a more full face for when I feel like it or special occasions.

I like L'Oréal makeup for a natural look especially the foundation! Primer comes first and try and get one for your skin type (oily, dry, both) primers help your makeup stay on all day and making it look less cakey. Then comes foundation, then concealer (you can miss this one out if you want to) and then powder. I wouldn't leave powder out because otherwise your makeup will 'move' around your face and rub off or look oily. Make sure the makeup matches your skin tone and your skin type. Use good brushes or a beauty blender.

Start with a good skincare routine! That's the key step. If you want to keep it simple, buy a good foundation or concealer ( I like makeup forever and NARS because they are long lasting and high quality, although pricey) you can try to find good brands at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. If you have an outlet mall near you, they always have makeup stores, just know your shade. Ulta is currently holding daily deals, check out their flyers/website. Use bronzer (I like nyx) on your cheekbones and nose to contour, and lots of mascara! If you want to invest in an all in one palette, the becca x Chrissy teigen palette is my go to! It has bronzer, blush, and two highlighters. It is amazingly versatile (based on YouTube reviews) and you definitely more than what you pay for! I use it everyday!

elf and nyx are good, cheap brands to start with. my full face routine usually goes like this: moisturizer, primer, foundation, eyebrows, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, highlight and contour, then lipstick if I'm wearing any that day, then setting spray. I hardly ever use concealer but you should get some good concealer because it does come in handy. what I did was practiced with ELF, then subscribed to makeup boxes such as ipsy and boxycharm. that's where I've been getting my makeup that's usually moderate to high end and great to experiment with.

elf is great for beginners. I always do a natural/light look. I use elf primer ($3), maybelline color corrector ($7), maybelline fit me concealer ($8), set with wet n wild matte powder ($3), maybelline colossal mascara ($8), elf brow pomade ($3), if I'm feeling myself I'll contour a little with bronzer and throw in some highlight  (if you're near an ulta, their brand revolution has a highlight that's a total toofaced dupe). My prices were guesses but give a bit of an idea!
