my partners driving me crazy!!

so this might sound extremely petty.. but bear with me.. me and my SO have been together for 3 years and are engaged with 2 kids (my eldest isn't his but he took her on) but he is solo messy! it literally drives me crazy! leaving clothes lying about does nothing in the house constantly just wants to sit and play the Xbox ( We are 24) I have mild ocd so mess literally makes me angry and upset and he knows this. is it just a man thing?
