Advice on purchasing crib/furniture/stroller/etc for FTMs from a frustrated mom!

JK

Okay... to all FTMs coming from a frustrated 10 month post mom... things to think about when buying your crib. Maybe we were just ignorant, but I don't want another person to make the same mistake.

Our crib has solid short sides so there are no railings to attach let's say rail covers for teething babies (our little guy is a little teething monster) or any bumpers. When buying a crib, please please consider all ages and when your little one will be standing and possibly chewing on everything and trying to escape also. I will attach a photo below of the crib i would have bought if I could go back in time.

Also buy stick on teething gel crib rail covers right away and stick them on before they start biting on the crib... once they bite thru the paint you can't attach them.

Any furniture in general consider all ages... when they are toddlers and will be climbing all over everything... I would research safety for anything new you buy.

This also goes for the stroller... really check out what the stroller is like for all ages... think thru what you may need and use for a toddler/older infant. Our stroller for example has the umbrella attachment when rainy and it's not really practical and a cover isn't available 😒

Other considerations:

- saw this in other post but I agree with washable changing pad.

- intro bottle at all times even if EBF (manual pump sometimes and provide via bottle) because my guy will not take a sippy or bottle and been trying for months.

- baby bay bassinet was awesome if available in your country for reasonable price.

- baby banana, raspberry teething ring, baby Einstein were my top used products.

- scissors and not clippers to cut nails... and sit n play fisher price seat to keep them still while cutting.

- plastic dish washer safe bibs

- swaddle sleep sacks that have arms out so they can still suck on hands.

- Mirror in car to watch baby

Okay other moms feel free to vent about your frustrations and advice for FTMs.
