Baby breathing too fast??

Question

My newborn baby seems to breathe super rapidly and shallowly in spurts at random, almost panting. Does this mean there is something wrong with him?

I recorded my baby doing it the first couple of nights home and had the pediatrician listen to it...he said it's normal and nothing at all to worry about

My daughter does this when she's about to fall asleep. She's about a month old, and my son who is now almost 2 years old, did the same thing. You wanted or just learning how to use their lungs so they can go through periods of rapid breathing and breathing apnea which is when it stops randomly or when they're sleeping. If you were to see blue lips or gums get to a hospital right away xx
