Looking for encouragement

Lauren

So we've been TTC since May 2016. I have longer cycles (35-40 days) but I've been told it's fine if it's normal for me. We had my husband checked about 6 months into it and his SA was top notch.

In March 2017 we did our first round of clomid (50 mg CD 5-9) with my OBGYN and had a sonogram on CD13. I was told clomid didn't work and I wasn't going to ovulate that month and that I likely have PCOS. I obviously gave up tracking anything that month.

We did another round in April after using Provera to kickstart my cycle. This time 100mg CD 3-7. Sonogram on CD14 and the same results. I think they said it looked like I responded a little more but just made a lot of small follicles (hence the PCOS diagnosis). We were then referred to an RE as that was our 12th month trying. They ran more tests, sonogram, ovarian reserve testing, other blood tests and an HSG. All came back perfectly normal. So we decided in June we would do IUI.

Well it turned out we got pregnant in May while we were waiting. Pretty shocking but I decided to give it one last go and we tracked ovulation and followed the SMEP. I ovulated on CD21 (makes me wonder if those sonograms on CD13/14 were just too early and the clomid might have worked those months).

Unfortunately, the baby's heart rate was slow at my 7 week appt and then had completely stopped at 8/9 weeks. Devastated. Finally healed and back to normal after my D&C; and we are doing clomid with trigger shot and timed intercourse this month. We would have done IUI but my insurance covers 100% of the TI. The questions I have are if clomid is going to work this month if my OB thought it didn't the first 2 times? Or did they just give up monitoring too soon? Was the fact that I got pregnant just a glitch? Anyone been through something similar?
