So a few months back I had a surgical abortion and I had the copper coil fitted after the procedure. Since then I've been getting really sharp pain on my left lower abdomen during my period and half way through my cycle (around the time I should be ovulating). I've suffered from heavy periods my entire life but this is like nothing else I've ever experienced, I can't move or speak whilst it's there and it usually lasts between 5-50 followed by a slightly less intense crampy afterglow. I can have anything from 2-30 of these 'attacks' in a day. I have to take 30/500mg of co-codamol in order to relieve the pain and even then it's still so intense.

Ive also been experiencing the same pain during sex but it only last for the amount of time my boyfriends penis is 'pushing' on the area and stops immediately after I move away. 

Asides from the obvious visit your obgyn do you girls have any advice or have experienced anything similar?
