Gyno "Recommends" Gastric Bypass

Kelly

Had an appointment with my Gynocologist today which I thought was just going to be an annual visit.

Had been there two weeks prior for unusual periods. All was well with my ultrasound and blood work but he's not sure why they didn't check testosterone levels too.

Then during pap he decides it would be a good idea to do a biopsy of my uterus. Barley any heads up on it. Just this is what we should do then bam.

Hurt like hell. He called in an another lady to help him. He just wants to make sure I don't have any unusual cells bc my periods are irregular.

And apparently that puts you at higher risk for cancer.

Then he says you have to have gastric bypass. Not you should or what have you done to lose weight just you need to. And you'll have to go outta pittsburgh bc no one locally does it anymore and you'll have to check with you're insurance to see it they'll cover it etc. I'm thinking what the fuck. I came here for a check up. I told your other staff member 2 weeks ago that my husband and I were thinking about getting pregnant and she was like all is good you should consider losing weight. It'll make things easier.

Then he goes you may or may not have polycystic ovarian syndrome. But it doesn't overly matter because the treatment is essentially lose weight. He had just gotten done saying my left ovary looked good in the ultrasound but the right one wasn't viewable so that probably means its small which is good.

Overall I left overwhelmed and upset and a little confused.
