He Wants Me Back?

My "boyfriend" and I have been on a break for almost a month now. He sometimes contacts me & then thinks that I don't want to talk to him, then he just doesn't reply. He always asks how I'm doing. His friends still speak of him to me. He always speaks to my mother. He called me few days ago to "check on me." The other day, he asked what I was doing Friday night. Could this mean he wants to be back together?
