Would you/have you used a doula??

Question

So I'm reading a book about doulas and I don't know if it's worth hiring one, or what're your ladies experiences?

No, I fully trusted my OB, and the nurses that delivered my son. My husband and I took birthing classes ahead of time, so we (somewhat) knew what to expect. The nurses were seriously such amazing coaches, a doula was not necessary for us at all.

Personally no, but Im shy and not a people-person, so it would have just made me nervous. Takes me a long time to warm up to people. My husband made the perfect "doula" for me. I had a midwife assisted home birth.

I would if I could afford it, but dang, they are expensive! I'm going to invest in a lactation consultant instead and make the husband take Birthing classes with me.

Too crunchy granola for me, besides, I am in good hands with my OB and the nurses at the hospital. They did awesome when I had my son, I am sure the experience will be the same this time around.

Not my thing...  I'm sure they provide amazing comfort to some, but I'd rather my husband be the only one there with me during those moments, aside from the hospital staff. He's my person and we created this little life together in an intimate space, so I just want to do this journey together with him as much as possible.
