My fiancé and I have two dogs! I have studied dogs and behavior since I was 12! I am really good with dogs and actually am usually told that I have a special talent for dealing with dogs, even aggressive ones! Which I happened to get a couple years ago! My dog is especially aggressive towards strangers! When we got her she was in a very terrible state! She had bad mange and was highly malnourished! She also had large gashes all across her body! So not trusting is understandable! I am skeptical about how she acts around children since she's never had young children in her life! I have had little girls at stores run up and hug her, she wasn't friendly but she wasn't aggressive either! Has anyone had a dog that was terrified of strangers immediately warm up to a baby?

Then my fiancé says his dog is not allowed around the child (when he/she arrives) because he's scared he's too hyper and might bite or jump on the child! But my fiancé hasn't been around his dog and I together since I got pregnant! Honestly I trust his dog much more than I trust mine around children! His dog goes to play with the little girls next door (4 and 5 yrs old) without any problem! He used to jump on me all the time but now he seems to only jump when I ask/allow him to, he's so much more gentle around me now that I'm pregnant! I think he will make a good children's dog but my fiancé says no! Any advice on getting my fiancé to let me at least try letting his dog around the baby?
