Midwives?
I recently moved from one island to another where here you do not see an OB/GYN doctor unless medically necessary. This is new to me. I've never seen, used or dealt with a midwife before. It's just not customary where I've lived before. So now we are forced to have a midwife and I am a little uncertain of what to expect! I asked the receptionist at a local Gyno office if I should register at the hospital since I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant and the lady I spoke to said "no?" (Like wth was I thinking to go to the hospital.. to register for what??) Anyhow the receptionist stated that we only see a doctor if you have a complication or need surgery. Now I'm upset and nervous. Can anyone give me some insight in the process of having a midwife? What is it like? Does this mean I have to give birth at home?!?! I'm so lost
