Too young?

My boyfriend and u have been together since we were 14 and 16 now we are 18 and 20 and still as deeply in love as ever. I graduate in three weeks and he's been talking about getting engaged by end of this year. I really want to because I love him so much but is it a bad idea...

You have to remember that you grow in leaps and bounds from the person you are as a teen to the person you are in your early 20s and you change again from your early 20s to your mid 20s and change even more from your mid 20s to your late 20s, your 30s, ect. So even though you and your boyfriend are growing together and have the same goals and values now you may not in a year or 2.

My now husband and I dated when I was 18 and he was 20. We dated for a year and were so madly, head over heels in love that we got engaged and moved in with eachother. We even talked about trying to have a baby. Within a few months of my 21st birthday something has changed in me. At the time he was the only person I had ever dated, my first love and I decided I needed and wanted to be free and single. I wanted to explore what the world offered by traveling, studying different cultures, meeting new people, being able to do what I wanted when I wanted without having to answer to anyone (I wanted to be selfish for myself). And we broke up. I spent the next 7 years growing and learning and being selfish and independent and maturing. And him and I reconnected as 2 completely different people than we were when we broke up. More mature, experienced, different people. We started dating again and realized we complimented eachother better now than we did back then. We got married in 2013 and admmited that if we would have gotten married when we were younger we would have divorced within 5 years.

Long story short, is that there is nothing wrong with getting engaged young but it would be wise to be engaged for a few years. Move in together and live with eachother for a couple of years before actually getting married. As it is MUCH cheaper to break up if things don't work out then spending the money on a wedding just to have to spend money to divorce a few years later if thing don't work out.

I met my husband when i was 15 and he was 18. Qe got married when I turned 18. We just celibrated a year married. Dont get discouraged :) Ot will be hard but if you love him its worth it.
